Power Amino Acids® and Factor4 Health
In Autoimmune Disorders

Autoimmune diseases arise from an abnormal immune response against normal tissues in the body. Wikipedia lists more than 200 autoimmune diseases with varying prevalence that afflict the human body. Although these diseases are poorly understood by modern medicine, they are more prevalent in women, where autoimmune diseases are among the ten leading causes of death in all female age groups up to 65 years. Most forms of autoimmune disease lead to chronic inflammatory disorders resulting in significant morbidity throughout life.

While the medical treatment of autoimmune diseases typically uses immunosuppression agents, it is more likely that a strategy that balances the immune response would provide improved therapy in these disorders. It is therefore of great interest that Power Amino Acids® in Factor4 Weight Control® have led to notable improvements in a number of autoimmune diseases that have not responded to traditional treatments in the medical community.

Notable successes have been seen in Crohn’s Disease and Multiple Sclerosis, which are described in some detail below. Factor4 health has also led to significant improvements in patients with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Lupus Erythematosis, Sjogren’s Disease, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Psoriasis, and Eczema.

Although we did not expect to see improvements in patients with autoimmune disorders at the outset of our venture to develop Factor4 Weight Control®, the positive responses reported below strongly suggest that Power Amino Acids® should be tested on individual autoimmune diseases in well-designed FDA clinical trials.

 

CROHN’S DISEASE

 

Daniel Beaty, a 52 year old postman in Illinois has suffered from abdominal pain, spasms and chronic diarrhea for the past 16 years due to Crohn’s Disease. Several years ago he was treated with high doses of Prednisone in an attempt to depress his immune reactivity. The Prednisone had little or no effect on his Crohn’s Disease but increased his body weight to more than 300 pounds. He was drawn to Factor4 Weight Control in an attempt to lose some of this weight.

Within 6 months of taking Factor4 Weight Control® his Mother called Dr. Scheele to explain how Factor4 had helped her son. Shortly thereafter Daniel called Dr. Scheele to confirm his response. MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS

Haley Joyce, a 51 year old housewife in Florida, has suffered from Multiple Sclerosis (MS), a demyelinating nerve disorder for the past 25 years. She contracted MS after the birth of her 4^th child twenty five years ago. Since the onset of MS she has been confined to bed about 70% of the time with profound muscular weakness, which has necessitated the assistance of outside help to raise her family. When out of bed Haley could sit on the couch with the assistance of her husband, who would place pillows behind her back and on her chest under her chin to prevent the lower jaw from drooping such that saliva would drool down her front. Haley has been living this way for the past 25 years because the medical treatments have had minimal effects on her condition.

Because she was confined to the bed most of the day and had little opportunity to exercise, her weight increased and over the years she has tried many of the common diets to achieve weight control, all with little or no effect.

Within the first 6 months of taking Factor4 Weight Control® Haley realized that her muscles were gaining in strength allowing her to gradually increase her activities in child and home care. CHRONIC FATIGUE SYNDROME

NovaLife has a number of female patients, about four or five, that suffer from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. MIGRAINE HEADACHES

Novalife has a number of female patients, about 10 to 12, who suffer from frequent, debilitating migraine headaches. Prior to Factor4 many of these patients suffered from 8 to 10 migraine headaches per month. Following their treatment with Factor4, the frequency of migraine headaches has decreased to about 1 or 2 per month. Naturally they are very happy to respond positively to Factor4.

 

SUMMARY

While the man with Crohn’s disease has fully recovered, the patients with Multiple Sclerosis, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Migraine Headaches have seen profound but not complete recoveries. Still, the improvements observed in daily activities enhance the lives of these patients to a considerable extent, which removes most of the suffering that accompanies these diseases.
