Power Amino Acids® and Factor4 Health
In Anxiety and Mood Disorders
George A. Scheele, M.D.
We are in the midst of expanding epidemics in anxiety disorders, mood disorders, chronic stress, and depression. Physicians are writing numerous prescriptions for these disorders and sleeplessness. The World Health Organization estimates that by 2030, more people will be affected by anxiety and mood disorders than by any other health condition.
The National Institute of Mental Health reported the following prevalence of mental disorders in descending order in 2012:
No. |
Mental Disorder |
Prevalence Among Adults |
1 | Anxiety Disorders |
40 million |
2 | Mood Disorders |
21 million |
3 | Specific Phobia |
19 million |
4 | Social Phobia |
15 million |
5 | Major Depression |
14.8 million |
6 | Post Traumatic Stress Disorder |
7.7 million |
7 | Generalized Anxiety Disorder |
6.8 |
8 | Panic Disorder |
6 million |
9 | Bipolar Disorder |
5.7 million |
10 | Schizophrenia |
2.4 million |
11 | Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder |
2-3 million |
The number of prescriptions issued in the United States for anxiety, depression and sleep medications has skyrocketed. A growing number of physicians, including Dr. George Scheele, CEO of NovaLife, believe that the recent rise in pharmaceutical products for mental disorders is unwarranted.
Many of these prescription drugs have harmful side effects. Researchers in Japan recently discovered that Prozac® changed the plasticity of neuronal cells in the Hippocampus of mice. These cells appeared to undergo serotonin-dependent changes that reversed adult-type plasticity into an immature state with increased anxiety alternating between periods of hyper and hypo activity.
EFFECT OF NUTRIENTS ON MENTAL DISORDERS
Poor nutrition and prolonged stress in the body decrease levels of neurotransmitters in the brain. These neurotransmitters include natural sedatives, stimulants, pain relievers and mood enhancers. These imbalances may lead to mood disturbances, including stress, anxiety reactions and panic attacks; mood swings, anger, rage and aggression; depression, loss of self-esteem and suicidal thoughts; insomnia; eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive behaviors and cravings for food, alcohol and drugs.
Neurotransmitters in the brain have positive effects on mental acuity, performance and pleasure. Power Amino Acids® in Factor4 Weight Control® provide direct precursors that generate an abundance of brain neurotransmitters, including epinephrine and nor-epinephrine; dopamine; gamma amino butyric acid (GABA); endorphins and serotonin.
POWER AMINO ACIDS® IMPROVE MENTAL HEALTH
Factor4 Weight Control®, rich in Power Amino Acids®, enhances the levels of neurotransmitters in the brain, which provide the following benefits:
- Power Amino Acids® contain the critical components to (i) curb sugar cravings, (ii) restore energy and focus, (iii) increase the ability to relax and (iv) increase the well-being of subjects.
- By increasing Serotonin levels, these essential amino acids may treat chronic stress, anxiety reactions, panic attacks and sleep disorders.
- By increasing Tryptophan levels Power Amino Acids® may treat mood disorders and combat the following symptoms, including:
- Anxiety and panic attacks
- Low self esteem
- Depression
- Fears & phobias
- Obsessive disorders and control issues
- Cravings for food, alcohol and drugs
- Eating disorders, including anorexia and bulimia
- Fatal obsessions
- Violent crimes
- Suicidal behavior
- Power Amino Acids®, including 5-hydroxy-tryptophan may largely supplant the need for serotonin reuptake inhibitors, including Prozac©, Zoloft© and Redux©, which are currently prescribed to more than 30 million Americans.
- By increasing epinephrine, nor-epinephrine and dopamine levels, tyrosine appears to increase mental acuity; focus and clarity; memory; optimism; and human rewards, including feelings of happiness, satisfaction and joy!
- Factor4 will calm your mood and give you greater balance and levity. Mood swings will be reduced. Anger, rage and aggressive behaviors will be diminished.
- When Factor4 is taken before bed or during the middle of the night, you will sleep better and spend more time in the deepest level of sleep known as NREM sleep.
- Your body will become more relaxed in bed. Feelings of restfulness will improve on rising in the morning, most likely at an earlier hour.
- Your sensory taste functions may improve, which will increase your enjoyment of food. Your smell will be enhanced improving your enjoyment of food and wine. Your sense of touch will improve.
- Your eyes may become clearer and more translucent and you may develop a newfound “twinkle” related to improved health and well-being.
DIETARY FACTORS CAUSE BRAIN DYSFUNCTIONS
The causative agents for brain dysfunctions appear to be three factors related to diet:
- Excess carbohydrate intake
- Protein deficiency syndrome
- Food swings related to excess sugar intake
Dr. Scheele’s recent book, entitled “The Obesity Cure: Weight Control, Metabolic Health & Revitalized Youth with Power Amino Acids®” explains how these three factors work together to slowly impair brain function.
FACTOR4 HEALTH COMBATS MOOD SWINGS
Mood swings may occur in response to stressful events in today’s fast-paced world, such as heated arguments with close friends or loved-ones, the death of a close relative or failure in life’s goals. It also may be associated with external events such as booms and busts in the economy.
Mood disturbances may swing from the mania of optimism and excitement, bordering on euphoria, to the depression associated with angry self-criticism, pessimism and social withdrawal. The letdown may lead to an inability to perform at home or at work, loss of concentration, loss of confidence or self-esteem, feelings of self-reproach or guilt and sleep problems. In extreme cases it may lead to suicidal thoughts.
In addition to the external events described above, poor nutritional health associated with the Metabolic Syndrome is one of the major causes of mood swings in our fast-paced life, states Dr. George Scheele, CEO of NovaLife, Inc.. In the scientific breakthrough of our time, Dr. Scheele has determined that the chronic stress associated with manic-depressive mood swings lead to amino acid deficiencies in the diet and an imbalance in neurotransmitters in the brain that may result in the behavioral disturbances listed above.
Dr. Scheele has shown that the Power Amino Acids® contained in Factor4 Weight Control® correct amino acid deficiencies and reset (rebalance) the neurotransmitters in the brain, allowing the brain to return to normal psychological balance.
FACTOR4 WEIGHT CONTROL® RELIEVES MOOD SWINGS

FACTOR4 HEALTH COMBATS ANGER, RAGE & AGGRESSION
During periods of poor nutrition and aging, many people develop mood disturbances that may include outbursts of inappropriate behavior, including anger and rage. These outbursts may also alternate with bouts of depression.
These mood disturbances may overwhelm people’s lives with irritability and anger that may harm relationships and prevent people from attaining their full potential in the home and in the work place.
Poor nutritional health associated with Metabolic Syndrome is one of the major causes of mood swings, including anger, rage and aggression, that lead to outbursts of inappropriate behavior, states Dr. George Scheele, CEO of NovaLife, Inc.. In the scientific breakthrough of our time, Dr. Scheele has determined that amino acid deficiencies in the diet lead to an imbalance in neurotransmitters in the brain that may enhance mood swings that lead to anger, rage and aggression.
Dr. Scheele has further determined that the Power Amino Acids® contained in Factor4 Weight Control® correct amino acid deficiencies and reset (rebalance) the neurotransmitters in the brain, allowing for the relief of mood swings that lead to anger, rage and aggression.
